Shortcuts Don t Work

When you think back through your life, has there ever been a time when you took a shortcut and it worked out in your favor?
We ve all seen the get-rich-quick 2 am infomercials, and we ve heard the people selling the get-out-of-debt kits . But do you know anyone who has tried any of these schemes and actually made out?
My general rule in life is "If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is."
Most people try to do something fast in order to get it done. Many times they find out it was actually the long way because they have to spend the time doing it over again.
Instead of taking the short way, force yourself to sit down (with your spouse if you re married) and plan your way logically through a plan of action. You ll find that it will take you less time, less work, and you will also have a great sense of accomplishing something the right way.
